The Penn Musculoskeletal Institute – the First of Its Kind in Philadelphia - to be Located at the New Penn Center for Specialty Care

The Penn Center for Specialty Care, a brand new 272,200 square-foot 11-story tower, conveniently located at 3737 Market Street, will provide patients seamless, integrated care, for same-day specialty consultations and on-the-spot treatment options.

Slated to open in mid-2014, the multidisciplinary Penn Musculoskeletal Institute, at the Penn Center for Specialty Care, will transform the already exceptional care offered by Penn Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, Musculoskeletal Radiology and Good Shepherd Penn Partners (GSPP). The Institute was designed to create an ideal environment for integrated patient-focused musculoskeletal care and collaboration among health professionals.

At the Penn Musculoskeletal Institute, patients will experience the convenience of seeing all musculoskeletal subspecialists in one easy to access location. The Institute is also comprised of six state-of-the-art operating rooms and peri-operative care support services. For patients with other musculoskeletal disorders like arthritis or osteoporosis, Penn Rheumatology will be located adjacent to the Institute for better coordination of care. In addition, there will be a state-of-the-art Physical Therapy Center, with same day options and available consults by surgeons or therapists.

An advanced and comprehensive radiology center will be located in the Penn Center for Specialty Care, directly adjacent to the Musculoskeletal Institute. This advanced radiology center will have services such as digital x-ray, computed tomography (CT scan), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI scan) and ultrasound. Musculoskeletal radiologists will be on site for interdisciplinary collaborations to develop cutting edge treatment plans for musculoskeletal disorders.
